This can be a safeguard for household water, but if used for watering your lawn and garden, this effect can eliminate necessary and beneficial microscopic life forms that your plants depend on for survival and healthy growth. Each set of filters effectively treats about 20,000 gallons under normal usage. The filter removes about 98% of free chlorine in the water, leaving a residual that is not detectable by common instruments.
